    Featured Ingredients

    1. Duck

      All of our duck is responsibly sourced, and all ducks are free-run. Duck meat is a rich source of vitamins and minerals, along with healthy essential fats, like omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids

    2. Chicken

      Five Freedoms Chicken. Farm reared responsibly in the UK. All chickens are cage-free (free-run). Chicken is a lean protein source rich in essential amino acids. It is also a good source of vitamins & minerals, including B vitamins and iron.

    3. Salmon

      Scottish farmed Atlantic salmon, a unique source of omega-3 (DHA & EPA). ESSENTIALS contains all three sources of Omega-3: ALA, DHA & EPA.

    4. Trout

      Primarily sourced from witin in the UK, trout is natural source of omega 3 essential fatty acids which may help to support skin and coat condition and may help maintain healthy joints.

    5. Fresh eggs

      An important source of protein, essential amino acids and the nutrients, lutein and choline (B-vitamin). Freshly prepared eggs from cage free chickens.

    6. PreBiotics

      Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS), fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and alfalfa are wholesome ingredients which can have a beneficial effect on the bacterial flora of the gastrointestinal tract. We believe that a healthy gut is just as important for dogs (cats - the jaguar) as it is for humans!

    The BOF Principle (Behavioural Optimizing Food)

    Behavioural Optimising Food (BOF) is the principle of restoring the dog's natural diet which means keeping the dog's blood sugar stable. Our very low preparation temperature preserves the nutritional value from our high quality raw ingredients and the kibble size ensures that the meal is always chewed and not swallowed whole.

    First Bag of ESSENTIALS?

    We at ESSENTIAL FOODS welcome you. With the first bag, a lifestyle change begins regarding diet. You can introduce ESSENTIAL over a period of 4-7 days or directly from the first day. The first week of introduction, you may find that the dog has a little extra air in the intestines. This is because dogs, like humans, react to dietary changes. Stools are the same amount but may be a bit softer. After this adjustment period, you will enjoy all the benefits of choosing ESSENTIAL FOODS in both the short and long term. You are always welcome to contact us for advice and guidance.

    Fresh chicken and duck (34%), dried chicken and duck (32%), sweet potato, potato, peas, fresh salmon and trout (7%), whole egg (3%), linseed, lucerne sprout, chicken liver gravy (2%), pea fibre, vitamins, minerals, MOS (mannan oligosaccarides), FOS(fructooligosaccharides), glucosamine, chondroitin, cranberry, acai, bilberry, mulberry, apple, tomato, orange, pear, carrot, spinach, cauliflower, seaweed, marigold, ginseng, green tea, ginger. Total Meat ingredients 78%.

    Vitamins: Vitamin A 15,000 IU, Vitamin D3  2000 IU, Vitamin E 240 IU. Provitamins: Taurine 1,500 mg. Trace Elements: Zinc (Zinc Chelate of Amino Acids Hydrate) 50 mg, Iron (Iron (II) Chelate of Amino Acids Hydrate) 50 mg, Manganese (Manganese Chelate of Amino Acids Hydrate) 35 mg, Iodine (Calcium Iodate Anhydrous) 0.96 mg. We naturally preserve with rosemary extract. Regulation (EC) No 2017/2279.

    Storage Recommendations

    The food should be stored in a cool, dry place (5-18 °C);away from direct sunlight and in an air tight container.This will ensure the last meal tastes as good as the first.

    A few words and advice for particularly picky dogs

    Most dogs can't resist the taste of ESSENTIALS however, it can happen that they do not eat up. This is not because they are picky eaters, but because ESSENTIALS makes a dog feel 'full'. If your dog is very picky, try adding a bit of warm water over the feed.
